It is also said that on this day Lord Shri Ram established Shivling in Rameshwaram. According to the Hindu calendar, Ganga Dussehra is celebrated on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. Bathing in the Ganges and doing charity on this important day gives many auspicious results.

Ganga Dussehra has special significance among those who believe in Sanatan Dharma. Ganga water is considered very important in our Hindu religion. Worship Mother Ganga by reciting this special mantra-

"Namo Bhagwate Dashpapaharaye Gangaye Narayanye Revtyye Shivaye Dakshaye Amritaye Vishwaroupinye Nandinye Te Namo Namah."

Meaning - O Bhagwati, my salutations to Ganga, Narayani, Revathi, Shiva, Daksha, Amrita, Vishwaroupini, Nandini, the one who removes ten sins.

Ganga Dussehra worship method-

1~ On the special day of Ganga Dussehra, you should wake up before sunrise in the morning and do daily work and take a bath in the Ganges.

2~ Keep in mind that due to corona virus at this time it is difficult to reach the river Ganges. In such a situation, put a few drops of Ganga water in the water and take bath at home.

3~ Then at the time of sunrise, offer Arghya to the Sun with water obtained from Gangajal.

4~ After this chant the mantras of Ganga.

5~ Then after worshiping, donate to the poor and needy brahmins according to you.

By doing all this, Maa Ganga will be pleased and your wishes will be fulfilled. Significance of Ganga Dussehra has a special significance according to Hinduism. People who have faith in Hinduism celebrate Ganga Jayanti with great joy on this day. It is believed that on this day Mother Ganga descended from heaven and came to earth. Since then, the custom of worshiping Mother Ganga started in Hinduism.
